These Terms and Conditions govern your use of SafeHaven. By using the app, you agree to these terms.

1. Service Overview

SafeHaven provides anonymous peer conversation features, mood-based matching, guided prompts, journaling support, and related wellness-oriented tools. SafeHaven is not a crisis response service, medical provider, or substitute for professional mental health care.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction to use SafeHaven. By using the service, you represent that you meet this requirement.

4a. User Responsibility for Personal Data

You are entirely responsible for managing what information you disclose during conversations. SafeHaven is a peer-to-peer platform where other participants are unverified anonymous users. We strongly advise against sharing any personal, financial, location-based, or identifying information with other users, regardless of how trustworthy they may appear. This includes but is not limited to:

Limitation of Liability for User-Shared Information: SafeHaven is not responsible for any harm, loss, damage, or consequence resulting from your voluntary disclosure of personal information to other users. This includes but is not limited to identity theft, fraud, harassment, stalking, or any other misuse of information you choose to share. By using the platform, you assume full responsibility for any personal data you disclose and agree that SafeHaven shall not be held liable for the actions or behavior of other users who receive such information.

5. Safety and Emergency Disclaimer

SafeHaven is not designed for emergency or crisis intervention. If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a medical emergency, contact local emergency services immediately.

6. User Content and License

You retain rights to content you submit. You grant SafeHaven a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, transmit, and display your content solely to operate, secure, and improve the service.

7. Subscriptions and Billing

Some features may require paid subscriptions. Billing, renewals, and cancellation may be processed by third-party app stores or billing providers. Purchases are subject to those providers' terms in addition to these Terms.

8. Privacy

Your use of SafeHaven is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it at /privacy.

9. Intellectual Property

SafeHaven, its branding, software, and related content are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reverse engineer, distribute, or create derivative works except as permitted by law.

10. Termination

You may stop using SafeHaven at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations, risk, abuse, or legal reasons.

11. Disclaimers

SafeHaven is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, specific outcomes, or compatibility with every device.

SafeHaven is not a replacement for professional help. While the platform aims to provide a supportive peer community, it is not a substitute for licensed mental health professionals, medical advice, therapy, or crisis intervention. Users should seek professional help from qualified healthcare providers for serious mental health concerns, emergencies, or clinical treatment.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, SafeHaven and its affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from use of the service.

User-Initiated Information Sharing: SafeHaven shall have no liability for any harm, losses, or damages that arise from your voluntary disclosure of personal, financial, or identifying information to other users. This includes but is not limited to: identity theft, fraud, phishing, harassment, stalking, extortion, or any other misuse or harm caused by other users who receive the information you choose to share. You acknowledge that you use the platform at your own risk and that other participants are unverified, anonymous individuals. SafeHaven cannot and does not screen, verify, or control the behavior of other users.

Third-Party Conduct: SafeHaven is not responsible for the conduct, messages, or behavior of other users. We are not liable for harassment, abuse, misinformation, or any harmful content posted by other participants, except where we have actual knowledge and have failed to act in breach of applicable law.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Continued use of SafeHaven after changes become effective means you accept the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of your principal operating jurisdiction, unless otherwise required by applicable consumer protection law.
