Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 15, 2026
SafeHaven is designed to support anonymous peer conversations in a private, respectful environment. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the information needed to run and improve the service:
- Account and technical data such as Firebase user ID, app integrity checks, and device notification token.
- Conversation data you choose to submit, such as anonymous messages, mood tags, and session metadata.
- Support and safety signals, including reports, moderation events, and error logs.
- Webhook events from billing providers (for subscriptions) when applicable.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide core features such as mood-based matching, chat sessions, guided prompts, and journals.
- Deliver push notifications for relevant session activity when enabled.
- Protect users and enforce platform safety policies.
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and improve reliability and performance.
3. Anonymous Experience
SafeHaven does not provide public profiles. Conversations are intended to be anonymous to other users. However, no online service can guarantee absolute anonymity against all risks, and we may process backend identifiers to operate and secure the service.
Important: You are solely responsible for what you share in conversations. We strongly recommend that you do not share personally identifiable information (such as your name, email address, phone number, home address, workplace address, or other identifying details) with other users in the platform. SafeHaven is designed as a judgment-free space for peer support, and other users are also anonymous and unverified.
4. Legal Bases (Where Applicable)
Depending on your region, we process data based on contract performance, legitimate interests (security and service quality), legal obligations, and consent (for optional notifications or analytics where required).
5. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share data with:
- Service providers that help us host and operate SafeHaven (for example, cloud infrastructure and messaging delivery).
- Authorities or legal parties when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
- A successor entity in a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, subject to lawful safeguards.
6. Data Retention
We retain data only as long as needed for product operation, legal compliance, dispute resolution, and safety purposes. Some records may be deleted or anonymized on a rolling basis.
7. Security
We use technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including secure cloud infrastructure, access controls, and app integrity checks. Still, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on local law, you may have rights to:
- Access, correct, or delete certain personal data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based.
- Request data portability where legally available.
You can also disable push notifications in your device settings.
9. Children
SafeHaven is not intended for children below the minimum age required by local law. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and remove it.
10. International Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we implement safeguards for cross-border transfers.
